Arizona (AZ) Archery Season, 2022-2023

Arizona state regulates hunting season by area, with many permits issued by a lottery system. Make sure you visit the website of the Arizona Game and Fish Department for details before heading out for a hunt.

Arizona Deer Season

  • Archery August 19 – Sept 8** / December 9 – December 31**
  • General Season October 21 – December 31**

Can I Hunt on Private Land without a License in Arizona?

Hunting and fishing on private land are allowed without consent from the Arizona Game and Fish Department but with permission from the landowner. No shooting is permitted within ¼ mile from or across a road, railway, or any occupied structure on private land.

  • Arizona residents and non-residents aged 10 years and over require a valid hunting license to hunt in the state.
  • Persons under 10 may hunt without a license when accompanied by a licensed individual 18 or older.

  • No one under 10 may take big game in the state of Arizona.
